News from the Oswego county Legislature - May 2024

The Legislature is the chief policy-making body for Oswego County. It makes and passes laws that affect all of us. The County Legislature establishes and votes on the annual budget for the county.

The Legislature includes 23 Republicans and 2 Democrats who represent the 117,525 residents of the county. To put this in perspective, Onondaga County has 17 legislators who represent a population of more than 4 times the population of Oswego County. Legislators serve a 2-year term in office.
