Oswego County Election news & Info

  • IMPORTANT Change in postmarks affecting practices at the Board of Elections. The US Postal Service is no longer applying a postmark to every piece of mail upon receipt. This means that mailed ballots or other time sensitive correspondence with the Board of Elections will need to be mailed earlier or delivered in person to ensure it arrives on time.

  • Early Voting - There are now TWO polling places in Oswego County for early voting. Find out more about them and early voting dates by clicking here.

  • Absentee Voting - Voters may download an application or they may apply online through the Absentee Portal. Permanent Absentee status is available for individuals with permanent illnesses or disabilities. Temporary Absentee status is available for those who are temporarily ill, out of town, or unable to vote on Election Day.

    NEW in 2022 - once a voter has been issued an absentee ballot, they cannot vote at their poll site on Election Day or during Early Voting hours, even if their circumstances change. Anyone who has been issued an absentee ballot and shows up to vote on Election Day will only be able to cast a ballot by affidavit.
